Patatje Oorlog plot

In February 2022, Franky van Hintum and Coen van Oosten drove their chip van to the Polish-Ukrainian border to hand out chips to victims of the war. What started as a spontaneous gesture grew into a life mission. Three years and almost thirty trips later, they have spent almost more time in Ukraine than in the Netherlands in recent years. They have served people in almost all of Ukraine, including in Dnipro. There, in the east of Ukraine, Franky and Coen opened their Holland House, to offer free shelter and warmth to people fleeing the advancing Russian army.

Every two months, chip shop owners Franky van Hintum and Coen van Oosten drive from Best to Ukraine to distribute free chips to civilians and (Ukrainian) soldiers. What motivates these men and what they see and experience is the focus of this engaging documentary, which is particularly interesting because of the impact that being in a war zone has on "ordinary" citizens.
