The story takes place over a period of a century. Four generations of girls spend their childhood on the same farm in different time periods. Their lives are somehow connected. Because their mutual connection is so great, the concept of time seems to disappear.

A roving camera and a soundtrack reminiscent of Eraserhead create an oppressive atmosphere where disaster can appear at any moment. Unfortunately, it takes 80 minutes (!) before anything interesting happens in this endless tease. Schilinski weaves the stories of four girls/young women from 1914 to the early 21st century. The overlapping themes are clear over 149 minutes, and there's plenty of atmosphere, but there's no narrative. Why Schilinski didn't wrap this up in 15 minutes is a mystery. Challenging and cleverly filmed, but above all slow, soporific, and frustrating.
