Les Mots de la Fin plot
Due to advances in medicine, life can sometimes be extended longer than desired, because it is difficult to sustain. In Belgium, assisted suicide is prohibited, but euthanasia has been possible in some cases for 20 years. Based on the experiences of a doctor and his patients, the documentary tells how the right to decide for yourself about your death is exercised. It teaches us something about respect, life and humanity.

Under strict conditions, euthanasia has been permitted in Belgium for 20 years. This documentary consists of conversations between doctors who are available for this purpose and patients (also from France) who are considering or have decided to end their lives by means of euthanasia. Hardy and Lejeune use an objective film style to safeguard the integrity of their film. For a short film that would have been fine, now halfway through it starts to feel like a dry repetition of moves, however penetrating and instructive those conversations are.
