Putulnacher Itikatha plot

Bengal, late 1930s. Shortly after training as a doctor in Calcutta, urbane and ambitious Shashi visits his native village before leaving for London. He feels like an outsider in the marshland and struggles with the feudal customs and superstitions there. As Shashi becomes increasingly involved with the villagers, both professionally and personally, his temporary stay becomes worryingly longer.
