Successful businessman Eric travels to Italy to save his daydreaming daughter Olivia from blowing her life savings on renovating a dilapidated villa she bought for 1 euro. Italy, however, has other plans for him, as the country delivers on its legendary promise of beauty, magic and romance.

A very predictable streaming movie with the expected production values, B- and C-list actors, and a story that fits on a beer mat - and also feels like it was written on one. What made me decide to sit through the movie despite this was the name of Violante Placido - one of the most beautiful names in the entire film industry in my opinion. Where did I know her from again? Well, from her role in Anton Corbijn's The American (2010), and although it is clear that there are a number of years between that role and this one, you wouldn't immediately think that it has already been 15.
Furthermore, the film is perhaps only interesting because of the 1-euro concept - which was new to me. The first few minutes I really sat there with my mouth open, with the occasional cry of 'take my money' in between. Yes, that really exists, although the concept has been embellished a bit for the film perhaps.
2.5* - for the villa and Violante.
