Where the Wind Comes From plot
In a remote Tunisian town where nothing much happens, lives a bored Alyssa. She is desperate for more. The mundanity of her life crushes her fiery spirit, and everyone around her feels her listlessness. When a great opportunity to live and work in Europe arises, Alyssa asks her childhood best friend, Medhi, to come along. He is the dreamer with artistic talents, she is the hustler with a defiant drive to succeed. But their friendship is tested as the dangers on the road trigger past traumas.

Nineteen-year-old Alyssa [Eya Bellagha] convinces 23-year-old Mehdi [Slim Baccar] to enter an art competition in Djerba. The grand prize is a residency in Germany, and if Alyssa and Mehdi marry, they could settle permanently in Germany. Mehdi has to win… and arrive on time, of course. The long road trip is naturally full of bumps and results in personal growth. Bellagha and Baccar have a pleasant chemistry, and beautiful images of the Tunisian countryside compensate for the formulaic scenario.
