Lucas [Tom Blyth] works undercover to entrap homosexuals. The problem is that he's attracted to men and even develops feelings for his target, Andrew [Russell Tovey]. But how can he maintain his professional integrity with his feelings? Blyth's facial expressions make you wonder how his colleagues can possibly be unaware. Tovey delivers a fine performance in this commendable, but unremarkable, psychological drama.

Actually quite an interesting film.

Especially after some research. I had no idea that in the 60s and 70s police officers actually went undercover to track down gay men in toilets and then arrest them or fine them later.

In this film, it is the late 90s; back then, this didn't really happen anymore. Maybe still in certain states of America.

It is sad that the police concerned themselves with this. And it is good to see that norms and values are changing. In the past, women were thrown onto the stake if they made herbal potions or made predictions about people. Now you have those 'woke' shops with herbs, tea, and gemstones that are said to possess all kinds of powers. And these are visited en masse.

Otherwise, the actors perform quite well, and I understand that it is extra difficult when you are a closeted police officer and your boss orders you to arrest men engaging in homosexual acts.

It is quite remarkable, incidentally, that lesbian women were not challenged in toilets. In 1971, homosexuality completely disappeared from criminal law in the Netherlands.
