Melanie's 17-year-old autistic daughter Jenny is a senior in high school and excited about college. After a bad experience her freshman year, Jenny is not interested in attending her last Christmas ball before graduation. Melanie decides to surprise Jenny by joining the school's planning committee to throw a welcoming party for all the students.
