Mediocre documentary. The film doesn't know what it wants to be, a George Romero documentary or the documentary about George's Resident Evil script that was never approved. Running time of almost two hours was too long and a documentary of two subjects was created. George Romero and George Romero's Resident Evil.

Of course, a documentary also needs to have a history of the subject. But had it cut to an hour and a half about the commercial for Resident Evil 2, the writers shared Romero's reason for being fired and finally Paul WS Anderson's film. And in between on-location interviews with the one current of the commercial, or where Romero went to write his scripts.

Too much unnecessary material put in. Romero was a great filmmaker, but he didn't deliver a top film either.

A mechanical-sounding voice-over (AI) and long audio fragments from a telephone conversation with an old-fashioned radio as static background suggest that this is a well-researched but sloppily edited podcast about the connection between horror master George A. Romero, the PC game Biohazard and the Resident Evil films. Around 1996, there was talk for a while between Japanese game developer CapCom, German Constantin Film and George A. Romero for a film version of one of the most successful games of all time. The project failed during pre-production and this documentary asks what kind of film Romero had in mind, why the collaboration ended and why fans had to wait until 2002 for a film adaptation. The content is interesting and the use of footage from the games of the time is valuable, but otherwise you can just as well play this as an audio file.
