Diamonds in the Sand plot

The Japanese term kodokushi refers to the phenomenon of lonely death. This is particularly evident among elderly single people who are often found months after their death. Divorced Yoji is a downgraded businessman who lives a lonely life in Tokyo. With the idea that no one is lonely in the Philippines, he decides to leave his current existence behind and moves to Manila. The chaos of the capital offers him human connection and an unpredictable future.
