Hijack '93 plot

On October 25, 1993, four teenagers hijacked a Nigerian Airways Airbus A310 from Lagos to Abuja. They wanted to divert the plane, carrying top officials including Chinese Vice President Rong Yiren, to Frankfurt, Germany. However, it had to stop for fuel in Niamey, Niger. Upon landing, the hijackers declared themselves members of the “Movement for the Advancement of Democracy in Nigeria.”
