This film made me characterize Galizia as the German Sean Baker. There is plenty to criticize about that. Because this film also stands out because of its own style. It was enjoyable to watch the characterization of the “white trash” fairground people. The soundtrack, the narrator and the flashy images make it a real pleasure to watch.
Then follow great supporting roles of "grandpa and grandma"! These types also reminded me of the films of Jensen and Coen in which the supporting roles/characters often really make you jump up.
The story is quite smooth but felt like it was not quite finished. Still, this is really a film you want to see at a festival like IFFR 2025, because of the surprising style.
