Abril is a talented jockey who becomes pregnant by Remo. He also has his qualities, which are overshadowed by his self-destructive behavior. A textbook example of "love it or hate it" is destined for cult status. The jockey of the title is Remo Manfredini, who loses his memory after a bizarre accident during a race he was supposed to win for his boss, Daniel Giménez Cacho. Because everyone has lost track of Remo after the accident, he wanders around looking for clues to his identity. This serves as a framework for a series of absurd and/or surreal scenes in which all sorts of things happen and nothing makes sense. A disjointed mess or a stimulating, intellectual puzzle? That is emphatically up to the viewer. The direction, cinematography, and editing are excellent. Benicio Del Toro was one of the executive producers.
