Aké plot

A portrait of the footballer Nathan Aké. The film follows Aké from his early years at ADO Den Haag to his current status as a star player at Manchester City, where he won all the major prizes in 2023. The documentary highlights more than just Aké's football career. We get a unique glimpse into his private life and get to know the man Nathan Aké. We see where he grew up in Voorburg, how he deals with fame and success, and what his motivations are.

The documentary suits the player: a normal boy with few highs and lows. This is also a kind of report with hardly any embellishments. What I have learned?

He is good friends with Ricardo Kishna

His father passed away two years ago

He always delivers and doesn't do anything crazy. Both on and off the field.

There's not much more to this than that. It wasn't annoying to watch, but it could have been dismissed in three sentences.

Quite funny in this regard: as the first sentence at the start you hear Aké say: "Why is a documentary being made about me?" That still remains a good question after seeing it
