An Angry Boy plot

At a young age, Owen Marshall managed to escape a sadistic cult. He has now rebuilt his life. However, the scars from the past run deep and the nightmares he thought he had avoided violently catch up with him again. When the cult finds him again, Owen will have to confront his tormentors.

Owen Marshall [Scott Callenberger] gets his 15 minutes of fame when he prevents a robbery, but media attention also brings dark figures from the past back into his life. For example, he sees Cameron [Graham Davidson], a boy he had forgotten, appear as suddenly as he disappears, and memories of cult leader Andy [Eric Roberts] and his psychotic right-hand man Mark [Thomas Cambridge] emerge. When Mark appears out of nowhere, Owen teams up with his best friend Ricky [Caleb Lowery] to fight to the death. Won some awards at horror festivals, but I don't know why. Callenberger and Lowery deliver acceptable performances, but Cambridge is more of an anxious rabbit than a terrifying villain. And Erik Roberts just babbles in a few scenes in which he recites some ravings from a cue card, apparently without any preparation. Camera work and editing are downright amateurish.
