Generatie Pa plot

How do you learn to be a man if you haven't had a father figure in your life? Mich (aka YMP), Jay (aka Big Jayzus) and Ruwhel are three musicians and devoted fathers from South Rotterdam. Growing up without their fathers, they had to figure everything out for themselves from an early age. Now that they are raising their own children, they are doing everything they can to break the generational spiral. The fathers form a brotherhood, a close-knit group in which the men give their opinions raw and unfiltered.

Three musician and father friends from South Rotterdam talk about how their experiences as the son of a rarely present or active father influence their own fatherhood. Jay, Mich and Ruwhell discuss the choices they can make. Since the promotional poster explicitly refers to hip-hoppers NWA, it is important that the ethnicity of these fathers plays a role. It's always good to see positive father figures, but the combination of slang and sometimes clumsy grammar makes it difficult to understand what these men really want to say. It doesn't get very deep anyway and I honestly don't understand at all why Fadlalla has these sympathetic, apparently friendly men pretend at the end as if they are coming "Straight Outta Compton".
