The film is set several years in the future in a world that has been struck by an ecological disaster. A mission to the moon is planned that will be the first step towards human habitation there. With this in mind, A Million Days seems to be a film in which action, tension and special effects are prominent. No way. A Million Days is a talk film set in one location. In a house we follow three characters who have a big hand in that mission and who encounter problems that endanger the mission.

Motivated by a small budget, the cinematic possibilities are limited. The screenplay is subdued. The film is stage-based and places three characters in a house with a limited playing space of a few rooms and allows them to interact. As long as the mutual discussions and scientific approaches are interesting, that constellation provides some entertainment value. In general, however, the entertainment value is not high. The setting is monotonous and sterile. The actors play stiffly. The discussion material is limited. Moreover, mutual interactions are hardly affected by the factors of emotion and liveliness.

The scenario is not necessarily uninteresting, but does not really come to life due to the lack of entourage and ambiance. Actually, most of the movie is damn boring. I never got the impression that the film was based on a scenario that desperately needed to be made into a film. It is a scenario marked by a subdued and undynamic character. A scenario that would undoubtedly come into its own better in book form. As a film, however, A Million Days is quite boring, sterile and static.
