Fascinating, intimate documentary about Diana Nyad, the American swimmer who in 2013, at the age of 64, became the first person ever to swim from Cuba to Florida without the protection of a shark cage and without the use of fins. Nyad is a charismatic lump of energy who makes almost inhuman demands on herself, driven by childhood trauma, which she openly talks about here. The epic tour de force that she ultimately delivers is unfortunately rather neglected at the end of the documentary. Until then, this is a first-rate portrait of a unique talent.
