Dead Mail plot

In the 1980s, a tied man crawls his way to a mailbox into which he slides a bloody letter with a cry for help. The letter ends up on the desk of Jasper, an experienced researcher who returns lost letters to the sender. During his investigation he meets the strange Trent who shows interest in the letter and wants to get his hands on it at all costs.

A B-movie with not so great acting. I suspect that 6.5 on imdb are mainly votes from the people behind this lousy movie.

Not entirely successful, this atmospheric but rather slow retro thriller about a kidnapping and the bizarre way in which the perpetrator is tracked down, but the film definitely has a number of strong points. For example, the 80s atmosphere is captured particularly well; the film seems to have escaped from that decade. The acting is also excellent, with carefully developed, original characters. Finally, the plot is solidly constructed; especially the detail that has gone into everything that has to do with the electronics of that time is impressive.
