In the 1970s, young Ming Wang in rural China faces persecution and despair at every turn. Thanks to the support of his devoted family and his own unwavering determination, he finds his way to America. There, Ming follows courses at Harvard and MIT and helps develop an innovative technology that restores vision to millions of people.
