Beautifully filmed on location in Tibet and subtly acted, this is a terribly slow-moving romantic drama about Pema [Thinley Lhamo], who is suspected of infidelity when she discovers she is pregnant while her husband, Tashi [Tenzing Dalha], is away on a long trading mission. Rumors claim Ram Sir [Karma Shakya] is the father, but Tashi's brother [Sonan Topden] protects her. Why this has to be 150 minutes is beyond me.

Long but not slow, although the last half hour does drag a bit. It's also striking that the shots are long and almost static, yet always slightly moving, which is nice. The environments also look beautiful, sometimes with stunning, almost abstract images. The colors and framing are very well done. Towards the end, the image widens even further (no idea what the reasoning behind that is).

It's also a fascinating glimpse into that culture and, in fact, a pleasant film that slows things down. However, the characters remain distant, and as a result, the film didn't really captivate me, and 150 minutes is simply too long. 3.0*.
