Planète B paints a not-so-cheerful picture of the near future, with a simple yet original and well-developed concept. Beautifully filmed, and for this type of movie, perhaps the best cast France can muster. Souheila Yacoub securing a César nomination and La Ex as the figurehead—what more could you ask for? Themes such as freedom of demonstration and oppression by repressive regimes couldn't be more topical.

And yet the film receives no attention. Even in France there are hardly any reviews, and here—a film with Adele Exarchopoulos that has been out for over a year, about which I get to write the first word—it really can't get any crazier. Incomprehensible, above all.

In any case, I thought it was a top-notch film – excellent use of the available resources, beautiful visuals, great design, a strong and oppressive atmosphere, and a story that just works. And plenty to think about.
