Destroy All Neighbors plot

William Brown - a neurotic, self-absorbed musician determined to finish his prog rock magnum opus - faces a creative roadblock in the form of a loud and grotesque neighbor named Vlad. When William finally dares to demand that Vlad lay low, he accidentally beheads him. But as William tries to cover up a murder, his accidental reign of terror causes the victims to pile up and become undead corpses to torment him and create more gory detours.

Absurdist horror comedy that doesn't work mainly because of the mediocre acting. Certainly Alex Winter must be one of the least funny comedians ever, with a cringe-inducing display of pure caricature. Jonah Ray's acting, on the other hand, is simply substandard and he fails to achieve the fun that director Josh Forbes hopes to provide. It's nice that the finale is quite over-the-top and there is frequent use of practical horror effects, even though the make-up could have been double-checked. Viewers will, as the user above me rightly indicates, have to take into account that Forbes mainly hopes to follow a comedic path and leaves little room for actual horror and/or tension building. Extra points for the somewhat unpredictable course.
