The history of 'The Birthday Party', an Australian punk group that was guided both in the studio and on stage by instinct and the emotion of the moment, often inspired by a combination of mind-expanding substances. The performances were notorious for their aggression and unpredictability, but to their own surprise the band became a sensation in the post-punk era. Bassist Tracy Pew died in 1986, the other band members tell their story based on archive footage in a documentary inspired by Julien Temple's The Filth And The Fury.
