The origins of racist ideas according to Ibram X. Kendi makes innovative use of animation techniques to reconstruct moments from the lives of the predominantly Black women. Their personal stories. The focus on poet Philis Wheatley and author Harriet Jacobs, who wrote their works as enslaved people, is valuable, and Williams certainly manages to provoke. However, this preachy lecture on American racism contains many quotes taken out of context without source attribution and claims without convincing evidence. There is no evidence that Thomas Jefferson was guilty of rape, and Lincoln’s “racist” statements were primarily part of political pragmatism.
