Hokage plot
"Surviving in the ashes."
After the Second World War, the black market is also recovering. In a nearly destroyed cafe, a woman raises money by selling her body. The war took the lives of all her family members. An orphan sneaks into the café with the intention of stealing and a young soldier also finds his way to this place. The three build a life together, but due to the bad memories of the soldier and the prospect of a job for the orphan, their shared life does not last.

The man is a bit older now, which means fewer films, also more calm work. A clear evolution has been visible over the last 10-15 years, but a clear personal signature remains visible. This film may no longer contain hyper-editing, but it remains quite intense.
Nice drama that ties in with a film like Grave of the Fireflies, but without sweet/cuddly characters. Everyone carries some trauma with them. Visually very neat, the soundtrack also adds value and the acting is very strong. Simply quality across the board.
