Nice.

A Russian version of Gravity, but a slightly purer genre piece. This mainly means it's smaller in scale, and everything looks a bit grimmer and less realistic, but that's not a bad thing. It's also nice that the film is available in Russian, although I did have to use a French sub. Not surprisingly, this film had some problems upon release.

A rollercoaster ride about a guy who must survive a failed space mission with the help of an AI. The audiovisuals are delightful (there are quite a few cyberpunk influences, though that's purely about the aesthetics of the design, not the cinematic aspect), the film isn't too long, and it's frequently suspenseful. I do miss these kinds of films; all that near-future tech-doom appeals to me much less.

4.0* and an extensive review
