Scorcese's Man, but also something more.
Also especially an actor who did not shy away from preparing his role to perfection, with
1 year of boxing and taxi driving lessons and extreme weight adjustments as extreme examples.
A top talent from the last 50 to 60 years of cinema presented in a very good, somewhat short, documentary with a nice overview of his films and facts about his person.

Biography of Robert De Niro, the son of two artists who won two Oscars and is regarded by Quentin Tarantino as the best actor of his generation. In an hour, Péretié rushes through De Niro's life story, without really going into depth. Early films like The Wedding Party, Hi Mom! and Greetings pass by, but Bang The Drum Slowly (1973 ) is dismissed as a 'tearjerker'. The key role of Brian De Palma is mentioned, but not elaborated, as Péretié is clearly most interested in working with Scorsese. Quite nice for film buffs, but De Niro has clearly managed to keep his private life hidden from the media: Péretié can only turn to the films that De Niro himself has made about it. A nice introduction (as if De Niro needs it), but too short and rather superficial.

Decent documentary about one of my favorite actors who has many top films behind his name. Often prepared to perfection with some crazy rolls. Sometimes also interested in a story that he asked his buddy Scorsese to film it. Yet the documentary remains somewhat superficial, especially when the films after the 1980s are only briefly highlighted and a few top films are only briefly discussed. 6/10
