Nice.

The story is quite original and the setting in an old coal mine is also fresh - and nice to see all kinds of details there that I still know from my visits to, for example, the mining museum in Beringen. And who would have thought that Jean-Hugues Anglade would ever come along as a professor.

The design is also quite good, the monster is very beautiful and appropriately scary - although it never really comes close to something like the Xenomorph. Still, there is enough originality in that area, and not only in design - the first kill caught my eye, both in the manner and the inevitable sinisterness of the execution.

Too bad that towards the end it sometimes seems a bit like that - narratively there is an explanation for it, but the same piece of background comes along just a bit too often, and because of that the claustrophobic effect disappears just a bit too much. Still, that is not really bad, because the beautiful ending makes up for that.
