The small town of Fairfield is confronted with the shocking murder of college student Melissa Thompson. The main suspect ends up behind bars, after which the inhabitants look forward to the town's bicentenary. Then more murders are committed and mutual distrust arises. Extremely boring slasher film with a load of unnecessary sentiment, which makes the uninteresting characters even less interesting to get to know. Director Erik Bloomquist luckily comes up with fairly explicit murders here and there, but even there the necessary originality and fun is lacking. The design of the murderer looks clumsy, it seems to me difficult to effectively chop off limbs in a long robe and mask with wig. The film would have been forgiven if it was more fun to get through, but it isn't. The whole thing wins some points because of the solid acting of the young cast, but that's where most of the compliments are named.
