When an unknown disease wipes out most of the world's population, a man with unique blood is isolated for research. Fearing for his wife's safety, he breaks his quarantine. He finds himself in a world overrun by monstrous infected and a shadowy agency hunting them down.

The film tells of a pandemic that has taken over the world and has ravaged the population. A man named David is immune and has been isolated in a cabin in the woods for two years. They hope to discover the secret of his immunity in order to be able to beat the disease. For this, he is examined remotely. His only interpersonal contact with the outside world is in the form of video calls with his wife. Suddenly, the video calls stop happening and things start happening that don't fit into the daily routine. It starts to gnaw at him.
In the film (apart from the beginning) nothing happens for a very long time. Eradication is a quiet film. Don't expect passionate action or exciting fights. The film poster gives a wrong impression in that respect. The little action that is there is also has a subdued character. In fact, little more happens than observing David in his daily routine activities. Director and co-writer Daniel Byers focuses on atmosphere. I suspect that it must also be a budgetary issue that forces Byers to place the emphasis there. Those who don't have money for spectacle will have to make do with other means. By creating atmosphere, for example. And that works well.
Byers creates atmosphere with gray images of David walking alone through the area, donating blood, receiving food by drone, being watched by drone and video calling his wife. It's not all that exciting, but Byers does manage to create a rather oppressive atmosphere of loneliness and isolation. That's something. Harry Aspinwall, who is partly responsible for the script, plays the main character David and does it well. That's something too.
We float quietly with David and his activities to the end. A few surprises along the way make you jump up and then it's over.
