Puss Gets the Boot plot
The mouse Jinx is constantly tormented by the cat Jasper. During their pursuits, something breaks every now and then. Jasper's owner is fed up with this and promises to throw the cat out of the house if this continues. Jinx subsequently tries his best to break something.

The first animation with Tom & Jerry, although those names only come later. And Tom's look in particular changed later. But still the well-known battle between cat and mouse, and also immediately nominated for an Oscar. Time for a change at the Academy Awards, because since the start, the animated short film award has always gone to Walt Disney. Tom & Jerry did not win, but creator Fred Quimby did with a different animation. Not a classic, but the tone has already been set.
