Mercy plot
Ex-military doctor Michelle finds herself in a deadly struggle for survival when the Irish mob takes control of the hospital where she works. When her son is taken hostage, she realizes there is no one to save the day. Soon Michelle is forced to rely on her battle-hardened past and deadly skills.

not really a bad action film, and especially not with mainly unknown actors to me.
the only one I knew was Jon Voight who played the padre familias.
a film about a doctor/surgeon who plays the one-woman army.
lots of good (one on one) fights.
nice to see a woman as a female so-called Rambo.

Mediocre action film. The story is yet another Die Hard variant and has no surprises. The effect varies. Sometimes successful, but the film also has some stupid scenes that almost make you laugh. I never understand why no one says 'isn't this a bit clumsy?' when recording or reading the script. The action scenes are decent but do not excel. The acting could be better but is not of a disturbing level. Visually quite neat with some fake explosions. 2.0/2.5

"Will you please stop killing people?"
At many moments, 'No Mercy' seemed like a better title. But naturally, a hospital is the best place to cut someone's ear off (and sew it back on). Those who won't listen must feel. Though slightly less suitable a place to blow up a doctor. In terms of production and acting, it almost looks like a Lifetime production, but much more brutal. With an equally short running time (at most 1 hour and 15 minutes).
Especially that whole Irish mafia with Paddy Power at the helm, pfff. Just a guess... whoever says Irish, says IRA, and whoever says IRA, says bombs or something? Although I have to honestly admit that for a while I thought I was watching this Mercy (2026) (I noticed because I didn't see Jon Voight listed in the cast, and so I accidentally watched 2 films with him in a row today). The story of that Mercy appeals to me a whole lot more. So, a huge bummer, but I decided to watch it to the end anyway and rate it as it is. And that's pretty low, IMHO.
Lead actress Leah Gibson is quite a sight to behold in herself. But I'm not giving an extra star for that, maybe half a star at most.
