The Inventor plot
Insatiably curious and headstrong inventor Leonardo da Vinci leaves Italy to join the French court. There he is free to experiment and invent equipment such as flying structures and incredible machines. Pope Leo But Da Vinci prefers to deal with many big issues. His assistant Francesco Melzo [Angelino Sandri] does his best to prevent Da Vinci from forgetting his task. And he gets help from Princess Marguerite de Navarre [Daisy Ridley], who finally sees an opportunity to do something with her intelligence. Ambitious animated film with excellent animation, but an abundance of weighty themes and high-sounding language make it inaccessible to children. The approach to those themes is a bit too simplistic to appeal to adults. The voice performances are variable and those sung mantras... I didn't need them.
