Furies plot
"Revenge has its price."
Bi is a country girl from Vietnam who survives a cruel childhood and escapes to the city of Saigon. The mysterious woman Lin recruits Bi and takes her to an apartment where Lin lives with two new friends: the fierce Thanh and the playful Hong. Lin trains them to take down a crime boss, Hai, who deals in drugs and young women. Lin trains Bi in the art of killing and sensuality. She willingly applies the skills she has learned to pursue Lin's dangerous mission.

Very nice action movie.
It especially looks very slick. In terms of action, perhaps not the most innovative or impressive film, although the choreography is quite nice, and the actors are also very capable. There is a lot of action coming from Asia, so the bar is set fairly high. But visually it is impressive from the first to the last frame.
Story is fairly simple. Perhaps a bit more modern because it is now four women kicking ass, although that is less exceptional in Asian cinema. And in America they don't care about Vietnamese movies, so that's why you don't hear much about these Furies.
The tempo is high, there are some twists in the story and visually it remains strong throughout the film. Simple genre entertainment, but in terms of finish a lot better than you usually see. Veronica Ngo should make more videos like this.

Excellently choreographed, hard-hitting action film in which heavy blows and kicks are delivered. Nice to see that Vietnam can also provide the film world with this kind of work, because the adrenaline that a film like Furies contains is sorely missed in the American action country. It is striking that each action scene is provided with extremely fast editing, an energetic camera and a decent feel for martial arts. The ladies can clearly put up a good fight and this manifests itself in several noteworthy action moments. Director Veronica Ngo's colorful ADHD approach also guarantees an extra, but after a while the film does enter repetitive territory. Particularly unfortunate are the mediocre CGI effects, which ruin some sequences, especially in the second half. It is special that Ngo also chose to use such material, because the film copes well with the fights themselves. The content is of course not particularly strong, but fans of serious violent crimes will find what they are looking for here.

Mediocre action film. This film does not have to rely on the story, but that is allowed with the genre. The execution is very variable. The pace is sometimes very high, but the film also has some tough moments. The violent action is sometimes very tight and beautifully filmed, but the film also contains a few mediocre fight scenes, with the motorcycle chase as the low point. Visually a bit strange and often shot in the dark... you have to like that. The acting is also not high-quality. A bit of everything, but not enough. 2.5
