On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death, Hans Otto cobbled together this superficial biopic. We see Beethoven as a child, his meeting with Haydn and all those important moments in his life as if it were a film adaptation of a Wikipedia page. Badly directed with too many and too long intertitles and a protagonist who doesn't do his best to give the impression that he can actually play the piano. However, Kortner does conform to the appearance of Beethoven as we know it.
