"She's always lived on her own."
Chihiro worked as a prostitute until she ate a delicious bento meal in a seaside town. She decided to settle in the seaside town and work in the bento shop. Now she greets customers with a smile and chats with them. She doesn't even hide her past. Chihiro talks to customers about various problems and comforts them. By meeting her clients, she also confronts her loneliness and slowly gets over it.

Finally another nice Japanese gem on Netflix! A film that tries to radiate a kind of positive vibe just like the main character Chihiro.
A film that also tries to counter prejudices by letting the main character be very transparent because of her past, but tries to use her altruistic attitude and cheerfulness as a weapon. The fact that Chihiro is a beautiful appearance only helps. I would almost dare to say enchanting.
The movie is very entertaining and all the encounters Chihiro has are interesting. It's all those little interactions with people that make the film so warm. Occasionally a flashback to her past and those are also enchanting.

Fine film that sometimes collapses a bit too often halfway through, but is otherwise pleasant to watch and still manages to move at the end. Nice encounters (often very warm and a nice atmosphere is created around the different people), pleasant lighting (visually very attractive sometimes), fine acting and a nice rippling pace that unfortunately does not always manage to keep the tension tight halfway through. Maybe something could have been cut out of it. In any case, nice that Netflix releases these kinds of films here. 3.5*.
