Few animals are as photogenic as the kangaroo, so children in particular will thoroughly enjoy Mara's adventures. After leaving her mother's pouch, she has a year to learn to stand on her own two feet. Her greatest enemy is Miro, a young dingo learning to hunt. This cobbled-together coming-of-age drama distinguishes itself only during the beautifully filmed hunting scenes. Child-friendly, but lacking in depth.
