Good film in which a British preacher arrives in New Zealand in a small British settlement. The film is set about 200 years ago and gives a nice insight into the culture of the Maori at that time. A nice setting and of course also enough beautiful images of the New Zealand landscape. Although a fine role by Guy Pearce, the main character is a bit boring during the first half.

It is 1830 when a British ship is forced to dock on an island for repairs due to a storm in the Tasman Sea.
