A fun documentary about Opportunity, the Mars Exploration Rover that was originally supposed to operate for only 90 days, but ultimately explored Mars for nearly 15 years. The stories and footage of the creation of the robot (and its counterpart, Spirit) and how the creators and scientists bonded with the lifeless piece of metal are fascinating, though the emphasis occasionally leans towards overblown sentimentality, which detracts somewhat from the viewing experience. Incidentally, the special effects of Oppy on Mars, provided by Industrial Light & Magic, are first-rate.
