Apolonia Sokol led a fairytale life in the eyes of Danish filmmaker Lea Glob when she first portrayed Apolonia in 2009. The talented Apolonia was born in an underground theater in Paris and grew up in an artist community. In her twenties she studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, one of the most prestigious art academies in Europe. Over the years, Lea Glob returned time and again to the charismatic Apolonia with her camera and a special bond developed between the two young women. The result is this thirteen-year portrait of a young adult woman seeking her place in the art world.

You have to find yourself quite a lot to let you follow thirteen years. And she thinks so too, our Apolonia.
That is why her name should be mentioned twice in the title.
The world revolves around me and myself, of course the Idfa jury couldn't make a better choice for best film in 2022. It's a pity that Apolonia isn't black like God who also passes by and turns out not to be a lesbian in the end. The latter is especially unfortunate for the girlfriend, who disappears silently from the life of Apolonia and the documentary, only to resurface at the end, but then her place has long since been taken by the documentary maker herself, of whom we suddenly have to share.
