On Christmas Eve, a scorned widow casts an ancient spell to bring her executed husband back to life. But when the spell goes wrong, the husband returns like an evil Christmas tree. He is determined to take revenge on the person who caused his execution. Can someone stop the killer Christmas tree before it reaches its goal?

The ridiculous concept is effectively presented in campy ways at times, but director Rhys Frake-Waterfield nevertheless incorporates a lot of unwanted drama and poor acting. The unfortunate thing is that the filmmakers choose to give the tree a voice, which makes a rather forced attempt at humor. It doesn't really work, and the murders aren't graphic or striking enough to do the premise justice. Demonic Christmas Tree (what a name!) does occasionally boast some funny camerawork and sparsely humorous moments. Ultimately, however, it remains little more than a peculiar concept with very cheap staging.
