Stric plot
"This is going to be the best Christmas ever."
In Yugoslavia in the 1980s, a family welcomes the uncle with open arms on his return from Germany. He will spend Christmas there. The friendly atmosphere quickly degenerates into tension within the family.

It could have been a Van Warmerdam. A special Croatian film in which a family lives under the reign of terror by an uncle who always visits around Christmas. Year after year they try to please him. It is clear that they are scared of him and are walking on eggshells to cope with the situation as best they can.
The reason why is unclear for a long time, but will unfold later. The relationship between the family members is also very strange. There is hardly any close-knit family. It is sometimes difficult to make sense of this mixed bag. A comical touch here and there. However, I have no idea whether you should have sympathy for any character.
But it was certainly fascinating. I like that absurd approach. Quite original and creative. Slightly recommendable.
