Who are those men who are on their way before dawn in their vans to construction sites in the country? While the rest of the Netherlands is still asleep? That's what filmmaker Geertjan Lassche wondered and that's why he followed a construction project in the heart of Rotterdam for two years, from first pile to completion.

Geertjan Lassche followed the construction workers who, from June 2017, during the construction of a residential tower on Bananenstraat in Amsterdam, which is to be completed in April 2019. Starts with an impressive drone shot in which we see some construction workers clambering onto a crane at a great height. Looks dangerous, but also adventurous. But this is not a romantic paean to the construction worker's life. On the contrary: there is a macho culture in which sexism, homophobia and discrimination are almost self-evident. No wonder that there is no smile among the foreign employees and that there are no new recruits! Attention is also paid to the physical and psychological consequences of the sometimes grueling work under time pressure. An extraordinarily candid portrait of a closed culture that is in urgent need of change in all respects.
