"Starting over is bittersweet."
In war-torn Lebanon, the chocolate factory of Syrian Issam Hadhad is bombed. He emigrated with his son Tareq and the rest of their family to the small town of Antigonish in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. There, Issam starts making chocolates again that are a success. Neighbor Frank recruits local investors for a new factory and local chocolatier Kelly feels threatened by the rivalry. As Issam's new venture, Peace by Chocolate, continues to grow, Tareq is torn between his dream of becoming a doctor and his commitment to the family business.

Nice, but nothing special. Clearly a film whose main goal is to tell a biographical story. That story is quite interesting, but beyond that the film doesn't offer much more. 2.5*.
