Estación Catorce plot
Not a single train stops at Estación Catorce, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, although freight trains rumble by daily on the railway that cuts the village in two. In addition, there is little activity in the village. The population there mainly lives in poverty, has hardly any work and it is difficult to make ends meet. Little Luis, 7 years old, lives there with his parents, brothers, sister and grandmother. Luis regularly has to flee the school and take shelter at home when a column of vehicles from a drug cartel stops in the village to cause death and destruction. But when the criminals have disappeared again, his father Manuel sees his chance one day and takes Luis with him to take a piece of cake while looting a house of a wealthy murdered couple. He asks Luis to help him drag a large pink sofa home so he can sell it later for a handsome amount.
