April has the perfect life: she works at a prestigious New York hospital and recently met a handsome vet, Jesse. April and Jesse complement each other in everything, except that Jesse doesn't say anything about his family. Jesse gives April a surprise trip to Paris. However, plans change when Jesse receives an invitation to his brother's wedding. April is excited to finally meet his family. What she doesn't know is that Jesse's family is Amish and not very fond of strangers. Now both must travel to Amish Country and introduce themselves to the people Jesse left behind many years ago.

Just as cloying as you would expect from the title, and perhaps not very factually sound in the way the Amish are presented. Still, not bad viewing, and something different from the usual dross of the genre.
Stineman and Joy are apparently a couple in real life, and often play together in this type of film.

Quite a nice movie, with a deeper message that you should never judge people without really knowing them. Religious communities are often not really accessible to outsiders, which is still relevant in these modern times. I found the movie rather tame and very well-behaved. Despite the fact that the two main characters Galadriel Stineman and Kevin Joy are a couple in real life, in the movie they didn't get any further than a nice kiss on the cheek. I prefer movies that color a bit further outside the lines.......
