The trial of Gustav Flaubert telling the story of Emma Bovary.

Not bad at all and with good performances of the main character Camille Metayer, but no less of Thierry Godard as Mr Bovary.

Such a novel, denounced for its obscenities, would certainly not cause a stir today, although the film does show in the end that the female part of the audience in the room and also outside, was already happy to show that life could be more than slavishly obeying husband dear, although Emma's behavior cannot be fully approved now either.
