The Only One plot

Tom just turned thirty and has spent her whole life chasing her wanderlust. During her wild days, she collected passport stamps, experiences and stories to tell her grandchildren. Now, however, she is confronted with society's expectations of a woman in this chapter of her life. She travels to a vineyard in the south of France to visit the only man she ever considered sharing her life with. David soon puts aside all the plans he's ever made. Tom will have to decide whether to commit to a conventional life or continue her adventure.

Love Scared

The only one is actually about fear of commitment and being caught between two fires. From wanting to feel the security of another person on the one hand, to wanting to (continue to) experience maximum freedom on the other.

There is nothing more to see here than this, so I understand that the majority of viewers can be disappointed. What I personally liked was that I was part of two people who were trying to find each other, and enjoyed the moments they had together. This made the viewing experience very pure and true to life, so I didn't miss a narrative either. A look into the lives of two "ordinary" people who have their own damage and, in the case of these two people, unfortunately never quite find each other. Just like in real life, roads can cross, but also part. c'est la vie.

I put my rating at 3* but it can be rounded to 3.25*.

3.0*
