"Some families leave legacies. Others leave bodies."
Lily Stone just graduated from college. But what should have been a highlight of her life thus far is overshadowed by the fact that as a young girl she was the sole survivor of a massacre that killed her parents. One day, Lily learns that she has inherited the nightmarish house where her family was attacked. She decides to return and tries to find out the truth about her parents. Deadly chaos ensues as long-buried secrets come to light.

Reasonable horror film that never manages to get very exciting, but ultimately shows a good control over the mystery. Cate O'Connor plays a remarkably endearing lead role and almost single-handedly carries this film to a higher level, because the direction of Perri Cummings and Paul Anthony Nelson remains somewhat flat. The color palette in particular comes across as rather bare and the camera does not always run smoothly with the action, but fortunately there are some practical effects to keep the horror lover satisfied. Apparitions is nowhere particularly qualitative, but it is quite entertaining for once.
